Meet our newest colleague at Cloud Family — technology enthusiast Daniel from Lidköping

Cloud Family is growing, and we are glad to introduce a new star to the team — Daniel Fredriksson, Senior Lead Software Engineer, with roots in Lidköping and a burning interest in technology.
After growing up on a farm outside Lidköping, Daniel made the move to Gothenburg and Chalmers, where he studied computer engineering. Since then he has gathered valuable experience in IT security, development and cloud architecture — including at BZZT and Appland. It was the Appland connection that led him to Cloud Family.
"For me it was very much the colleagues from Appland, but also the chance to work at a self-funded startup where I get to go deep into advanced parts of AWS," he says.
Technology, data and solutions nobody else has
At Cloud Family he is responsible for building and maintaining the platform that analyses large volumes of data and optimises customers' AWS savings through smart handling of savings plans. He recently helped launch a groundbreaking capability that makes it possible to move commitments by the hour — something unique on the market.
"We have just launched hourly commitment moves. It means we can save our customers even more money and react immediately when their AWS usage changes. Nobody else does this, and it is fun to be first with something new," says Daniel.
What he appreciates most about the culture at Cloud Family is the ability to have an effect, both technically and strategically. "Working close to the business and the customers, and feeling that your ideas genuinely count, is inspiring," he says.
From World of Warcraft to AWS — Daniel is helping build the Cloud Family of the future
When he is not in the cloud optimising costs for our customers, you can find him in the kitchen or in a game.
"I love food and drink — and in the evenings I am happy to get into a raid in World of Warcraft," says Daniel.
Daniel is looking forward to helping build Cloud Family both technically and by shaping the longer-term strategy and the business.
"We are glad to have Daniel along for the ride as we keep building the Cloud Family of the future — aiming at growth, innovation and even more satisfied customers," says CEO Jonatan Redvik.
